I am an Internet marketing professional, working on the web since I graduated college in 2003. Immediately out of school I began work in the field of Internet marketing. I'm self-taught in search marketing and have gained experience working in various capacities on nearly every form of website including e-commerce sites large and small, an online auction site, multiple college sites, and even a government contractor website. Since 2008, I've been working as in-house SEO with a staffing firm. (full resume)
I don't believe that SEO is something that should be done after a site is already designed and launched. Rather, it starts with research and planning. Information architecture, web design, and usability all play roles. Once a site is up however, I love to dive in and look at analytics, conversions, and other data to make it even better. I'm good at making sites, but my expertise is making sites better.
I tell it like it is, always try to find more efficient ways to do things, embrace change, and never accept "but that's the way we've always done it."
